Aim of this project
The healing of burn wounds often results in a hypertrophic scar. This type of scar formation is probably the result of an exaggerated and prolonged inflammation response. Suppression of the inflammatory response might result in less fibrosis of the skin. In this project, different medicinal products with anti inflammatory effects already described for other indications will be tested in wound healing. From literature and previous pilot studies the following agents were selected: arixtra, captopril and mevinolin.
